Still From Logan Lynn Radio Silent Music Video by Runn Shayo (2014)

Remember last summer when I toured the U.S. with Big Dipper and Conquistador? Well, a filmmaker named Runn Shayo was on tour with us, too — and he filmed all the best parts, which we have compiled into a sweaty, sexy, not-safe-for-work, romp of a music video for my new single “Radio Silent”!

Well, Gino and I have just wrapped up the Pacific NW and East Coast legs of my summer tour with Big Dipper and Co. so I figured I would post some pictures! I will hold off on sharing all of the gritty details of what went down behind the scenes for now (gotta save something for the book), but I will say that we had a really great time performing for you all and we will definitely be back very soon! I am in love with Mississippi Studios and Chop Suey. You all are wonderful!!!

WATCH: Teaser Trailer for Accidental Bear’s Queer Music Summer Benefit Tour Documentary (VIDEO)

Logan Lynn LIVE in Portland - Mississippi Studios - July 11th 2013 - Photo by Wayne Bund Photography

A lovely and talented filmmaker and performance artist named Run Shayo has been flying all over the United States with us every step of the way this summer for our tour, capturing the good moments (and the ugly ones) as we go. He is making a documentary about our experience together on this queer music tour and it is going to be J.U.I.C.Y. when it’s all said and done. I trust this man’s vision wholeheartedly, and if you don’t already know his work, you soon will.

We are flying to New York City tonight for the grand finale at Webster Hall this Friday night. See you there!

Here’s a teaser trailer for the tour (and the film) by Run Shayo:

Logan Lynn’s New Record and Summer Tour Reviewed + “Highly Recommended” in Current Issue of Willamette Week – Read it Here.

Logan Lynn Reviewed by Willamette Week (July 2013)

I just picked up a copy of the current issue of Willamette Week and discovered that they picked my Portland show as one of their “Highly Recommended” events this week and included the following review of my new record, tour, return to music, etc. in print and online.

Thank you, Willy Week! I love love LOVE the hometown welcome I was given this week by the local press and community. Portland Monthly Magazine, The Portland Mercury, PQ Monthly and Willamette Week all picked the Portland stop on my summer tour as a must-do…which was such a treat! I’m blushing over all the gushing, Puddletown.  Thanks so much!!!

🙂

Logan Lynn Review in Willamette Week (July 10th, 2013)From Willamette Week (July 10th, 2013 Print Issue)

“[GLOW STICKS, BOAS AND CASIO DREAMS] Since announcing his “extended hiatus” from music in 2010, former Dandy Warhols protégé Logan Lynn stepped back from the corporate machine behind major-label breakthrough From Pillar to Post and joined the staff at local queer hub Q Center. A few years and a charity record later, the Portland electro-popper is back with Tramp Stamps and Birthmarks, a layered confection of shiny beats, blips and synths with more lyrical heft (“Hologram,” “Loud Enough”) than the average dance-floor soundtrack. Lynn is back on the road, too, thanks to the Accidental Bear Queer Music Benefit tour, a five-city bicoastal trek to support LGBT and related mental-health resources nationwide. Also on the disco-ball-begging bill: trippy glam rockers Conquistador and the hairy hip-hop of Chicago bear MC Big Dipper, which is most assuredly not a football thing.”

Logan Lynn LIVE at Beatbox in San Francisco (2013)

I’m back in Portland for a few days midway through our summer tour and figured I would tell you things about the first leg of shows!

The tour kicked-off in San Francisco at Beatbox on Friday night and was great. I heard after the show that one of my all-time musical heroes Bob Mould had asked the tour organizer the day before what time I was performing and then he came to the show! So awesome.

Of course, this also means that Bob got to see me knock both of my bottles of water off of a stool and onto the stage during a song, where they began pouring out into a rat’s nest of wires surrounding me. In an act of quick-thinking, fancy footwork, I repurposed my green LaCoste face towels (which Gino and I use to keep the sweat from blinding us on stage) and used one foot to mop it up while I sang the opening of our next song. It was pretty special. Here’s to not getting publicly electrocuted on stage in SF!

Logan Lynn Interviewed by PQ Monthly This Week! Read it Here.

Logan Lynn Summer Tour 2013 - Photo by Rowan Wren copy

I was interviewed by PQ Monthly this past week about my summer tour, and this Thursday’s Portland show at Mississippi Studios. Have a gander at the original on the PQ site HERE, or just keep reading below…

From PQ Monthly, July 2013:

Now that July 4th has come and gone, you can start planning for July 11th–that’s the date the tour with the longest official title ever–Accidental Bear Queer Music Tour Benefit for LGBTQ Mental Health Services and Suicide Prevention–descends upon our fair city. The lineup is almost as long as the name–it includes Big DipperLogan Lynn, and Rica Shay to name a few–and that’s a very good thing for lovers of music everywhere. (You can check out the entire lineup here.) We had a chance to chat with local music-maker Logan Lynn, who also helps head up Q Center, just before he headed out on tour–we talked un-retiring retirement, tour preparation, the mass of talent assembled for this very good cause, and queer mental health services.

PQ Monthly: You’ve talked lots about the tour prep–and the rigorous schedule involved. Aside from working your ass off, what’s been the best, most rewarding thing about all this so far?

Logan Lynn: Yeah, it’s a lot of work to make a tour happen, and I have Read the rest of this entry »
