Logan Lynn Leaving Chief Impact Officer Role at Keep Oregon Well to Focus on “My Movie Star” Release and Tour

Hi friends!

As you all know, back in 2014, I joined forces with Oregon’s largest provider of mental and behavioral healthcare for children and families, Trillium Family Services. Since that time, our team has worked tirelessly to build and launch the organization’s advocacy platform: Keep Oregon Well!

Since its inception, the #KeepOregonWell campaign and social movement has been fighting stigma and ending the discrimination facing people with persistent mental health conditions, in partnership with thousands of individuals, bands, artists, celebrities, authors, athletes, media outlets, companies and organizations, all committed to creating safer, more supportive, trauma-informed communities across the state. Reaching so many people every week through the Keep Oregon Well partner network, this movement has grown organically, received grants, won awards, opened doors to healing, transformed schools and workplaces, expanded into new corners of Oregon, and continues to authentically meet community where they are to this day.

After 4 years and countless hearts and minds changed, I am leaving my role as Chief Impact Officer at Trillium Group to focus on a mountain of upcoming music and TV projects. Building this movement with each and every one of you—and watching it take off—has truly been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Thank you so much for the opportunity, for your belief in me, and for all of these years of support. I carry each of you with me as I go, and I can’t wait to watch Keep Oregon Well grow from afar!

My buddies Portugal. The Man are just some of the many partners who have committed to sharing the message of Keep Oregon Well over these years. I will be with the band at their shows in Oregon later this month, sharing the message of mental health wellness (though in an unofficial capacity, by that time). I hope to see you all there!

Portugal. the Man teaming up with mental-health awareness campaign for home-state shows

Portugal. the Man will be raising awareness for mental health during the band’s four shows in Oregon next month.

According to Billboard, the “Feel It Still” rockers, who originated in Alaska but now are based in Portland, are teaming up with public-advocacy campaign Keep Oregon Well to continue its goal of fighting the stigma surrounding metal health.

“Mental health is personal for our whole band,” says frontman John Gourley. “As touring musicians, self-care can quickly become make it or break it on the road.”

The shows take place August 24 and 25 in Portland, and August 30 and 31 in Jacksonville and Bend, respectively.

Portugal. the Man is currently touring Europe behind their 2017 album Woodstock, and they’ll return to the U.S. later this month. If you catch the band on tour, you’ll get to see their intro video, which features none other than Beavis and Butthead reviewing “Feel It Still.”

Beyond Well: Radical Inclusion and the Mental Health Matters Movement

Hello Keep Oregon Well Community!

Since developing and launching the Keep Oregon Well: Mental Health Matters advocacy platform back in 2014, I have had the great pleasure of watching this big dream for the world transform into a bonafide social movement, thanks to all of you.

The Mental Health Matters network reaches over 1.5 million Oregonians every week through media, partnerships, supporters and spokespeople. Now in our 4th year, Keep Oregon Well continues to grow and expand the movement’s reach, engaging new voices, schools, partners and communities each step of the way.

As a survivor of early childhood sexual abuse myself, I have struggled with persistent suicidal ideation for as long as I can remember. There are still days where I do not want to live…but over the years I have found healing in my life. I see a future for myself now, and I am able to stay connected to that future, even during the inevitable hopeless times. This healing has come by way of massive waves of compassion from others, professional opportunities which have allowed me to cultivate personal safety and a feeling of self-worth, and a team of people who a decade ago convinced me to interact with and, ultimately, speak this big, scary truth about my experience in the world. That truth — hard as it may seem — has been an agent of change in my life since the moment I first allowed myself to really look at it. Read the rest of this entry »
