Watch: Father Tiger’s Instagram Masterpiece (VIDEO)

(Originally Published on The Huffington Post on 8/20/2012)

I was recently introduced to Los Angeles-based electropop outfit Father Tiger by my friend/collaborator Jeffrey McHale, who directed both my “Bottom Your Way to the Top” video in 2009 and my “Quickly as We Pass” video in 2011, and who has now directed Father Tiger’s debut video, “Shell,” which just premiered this past week.

The video was made entirely with the photo app Instagram, and it is a real piece of genius. Jeff worked with artist John Parot (from Bravo’s Work of Art: The Search for the Next Great Artist), who also did the illustrations for our 2009 collaboration.

Watch Father Tiger‘s video for “Shell” below and be amazed:

Out Magazine, December/January (2009)

From “Out” Magazine:

“NEED TO KNOW: LOGAN LYNN — The singer chats about his new album, feuding with Jeffree Star, and “putting the discomfort back in disco.” Plus: see his new video, “Bottom Your Way to the Top.”

Logan Lynn’s emo-disco-pop blend has already made him a hit with gay guys who like to hear their lives — from the highs to the lows — set to music. His ability to capture melancholy and melody is really no surprise, given that the grandmother who taught him about music also taught a similarly emotional man, Johnny Cash. We sat down with Lynn to find out about “bottoming his way to the top,” feuding with Jeffree Star, and just what “putting the discomfort in disco” actually means.

"FROM PILLAR TO POST" GOT THE BEST REVIEW EVER FROM "NWMusicBlog" TODAY!

Logan Lynn (2009)

“NWMusicBlog” (Seattle, Portland, Olympia & The Northwest) reviewed my new record today. You can read the post HERE or check things out just below…This review is pretty much as good as they get. It totally made my day earlier.

From “NWMusicBlog” (11/22/2009)

“Logan Lynn’s From Pillar To Post becomes available on iTunes, November 24th, 2009. The highly anticipated follow up to the 2006 critically acclaimed self-titled release, From Pillar to Post features a wiser and more experience Logan Lynn, who in tandem with his new label, Beat The World Records, has produced a fine album full of danceable cuts, featuring some risqué, stunning, and oft times scathing lyrics.

The opening strings of Feed Me to the Wolves are being played so rapidly it sounds as if it is the water racing back after the wave has crashed and crested on the beach, rising in volume to a crescendo as the synth-bass crashes like a rogue wave pushing Logan Lynn’s melodies forward into the listeners’ ears. Heartfelt lyrics, heartbroken libretto gently glide over the highly danceable electronic pulse of the song, crying for a lost lover to assist in closure of the relationship.

The standout substance on this album is the masterful Read the rest of this entry »
