LOGAN LYNN’S NEW RECORD “I KILLED TOMORROW YESTERDAY” REVIEWED + GIVEN 5 STARS BY “PART OF MY EVOLUTION” NYC!

Music Review Tuesday went really well for me and my new record yesterday on the “Part of my Evolution” music & pop culture blog from New York City. “I Killed Tomorrow Yesterday” got 5 stars! — That’s 5 out of 5 possible, people. Count ’em. They also linked to Q Center which made me smile.

🙂

They had some really nice stuff to say about my Producer Bryan Cecil as well. Read what they think about it (and check out some super creepy Ray Gordon photos of me from this past Summer) by clicking HERE or keep reading below. There has been all sorts of love from the East Coast this week!

From “Part of my Evolution“: (10/19/2010)

“If there’s one thing Logan Lynn can do well, it’s saying a whole lot with few words and putting them into seriously addictive melodies. His latest album – and perhaps final album, I Killed Tomorrow Yesterday, is not only skillfully written and produced, it’s fun as fack! Probably not something you’d expect from reading the album title, but if you know Lynn’s work, this isn’t strange.

I’ve always appreciated Lynn’s fearless writing style. Somehow, that fearlessness really came to the forefront in this album. Bryan Cecil’s approach in production has a lot to do with it. While Lynn’s previous album, From Pillar To Post gave the impression that he was experiencing things in different places, I Killed Tomorrow Yesterday sounds like he’s home thinking about his day or week… or year. Maybe even making a few angry phone calls and leaving some straightforward voicemails.

All in all, I’d say I Killed Tomorrow Yesterday could well be one of my favorite albums of the year. Infectious melodies, 80’s-inspired synthy fun, and bold lyrical content. To top it off, all proceeds from this album will be used to benefit Portland’s Q Center. And that ladies and gentlemen, is how you say goodbye to your fans.

LOGAN LYNN + BAD LIFE PLUS GADGETS FEATURED ON THE "BOOM BOOM CHIK" ELECTRONIC MUSIC BLOG!

Logan Lynn (2010)

One of the remixes from Volume 3 of my “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection got some attention from the “Boom Boom Chik” Electronic Music Blog this week! To check out all the nice stuff they had to say and have a listen, CLICK HERE.

Here’s a bit from the post to tide you over…

From “Boom Boom Chik”: (2/3/2010)

“New York based music collaborators Jean Goode and Teddy! of The Asteroid Belt are still doing their thing, this time having remixed Logan Lynn’s “Write it on My Left Arm” off of his 2009 release, From Pillar to Post. Lynn is a singer-songwriter from Portland, Oregon who delves in different genres ranging from folk to electronic. The remix is a wonderful listen; the musical growth of Jean Goode and Teddy are evident in the fluidity of the track, something that is made possible only when the instrumental arrangements are solid and complement the vocals (as is the case here). Upon hearing the track I thought of the ubiquitous Imogen Heap and the less well known Milosh, two artists who are pretty good to be associated with if you ask me.”

-Radio Morillo, “Boom Boom Chik”

Nice, huh? Go Jean and Teddy!!! Ink and Pixels, baby. Ink and Pixels!!!

NEW REMIX! "WRITE IT ON MY LEFT ARM" VS. "BAD LIFE PLUS GADGETS"!!!

Logan Lynn (2009)

My friends Jean Goode and Teddy Forthewin (“Asteroid Belt”) are “Bad Life Plus Gadgets” and reside in NYC. Carlos Cortes (the producer I worked with on “From Pillar To Post”) moved East to work on Jean’s solo record and is currently wrapping it up. The ladyvoice you hear on here (as well as on my record periodically alongside Jen Folker from “Dahlia”) is Ms. Goode. She’s a supertalent.

This remix appears on Volume 3 of my “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection. Have a listen to “Write It On My Left Arm (Bad Life Plus Gadgets Remix)” HERE—>

Perty cool, huh? The remixes are only available HERE until after the new year, so pick yours up now!

REMIXER SPOTLIGHT: BAD LIFE PLUS GADGETS + LOGAN LYNN

Asteroid Belt/Jean Goode/Bad Life + Gadgets (2009)

“Bad Life + Gadgets”

“Bad Life + Gadgets” is based out of NYC and is the sum of two parts: Jean Goode and Teddy Forthewin…they are friends of my band by way of Carlos, who produced my new record, “From Pillar To Post”, and is now on the East Coast with them producing a solo record for Jean.

These guys have undercurrents of hip-hop and trip-hop all wound into this sort of indie electro experience and, well…they have their hands in EVERYTHING including a remix of “Write It On My Left Arm” for Volume 3 of my “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection. It’s great and will be coming at you in November.

Jean Goode also lent her voice to “Feed Me To The Wolves” on my new release…Jean and Teddy are lovely and talented and I’m stoked on their remix. You will be too, VERY SOON!
